Enver Jusufovic believes followers of his extremely talented mare Just Hifalutin should forgive her failure at Cranbourne on November 10.
Just Hifalitin was a warm $2.60 favourite for the BM78 race but had a complete “meltdown” before the race, according to Jusufovic.
“On the way to the parade ring we had to adjust her bridle, which was a bit loose and she got away for a brief moment, but fortunately the clerk of the course was with us,” Jusufovic said.
“However, from then on her eyes were popping out of her head and she just didn’t settle down.”
Just Hifalutin finished seventh behind Star Fortune, but the seven-length margin was exaggerated by the fact jockey Ben Allen eased her down when it was obvious she couldn’t get into the money.
Jusufovic said he will look for an easier option for the mare to get her to regain her confidence.
“She needs a nice float trip away against a weaker opposition, which I will plan over the next week.”
The daughter of the Reset filly is an exciting prospect with a record of seven starts for three wins.
