Just Hifalutin steps up in class this Easter Saturday at Caulfield in race four, competing against 13 other rivals in the Spicer Thoroughbreds Handicap. As a result of jumping from the widest barrier in the 1400m race, and being up against tougher opposition this start, Enver will make use of Jake Bayliss’ two kilogram claim. A jockey commonly seen at the Cranbourne Training Centre riding for Mick Kent, Jake is pleased to be mounting Just Hifalutin in the coming days.
She is a filly with plenty of upside and has progressed in her work considerably since her first race start and even first trial. Having taken the time to help her develop, EJ and her owners are now reaping the rewards as she looks to be a quality horse for the future. Currently undefeated, her last run proved what a gutsy race horse she is, as she took a significant bump when beginning to work into the straight. Becoming unbalanced for a stride or two, she fought on to take down Wez Hunter’s Call It a Day after it pushed it’s way through the field to take the lead at 100m out. Despite sitting three wide a majority of the race, she rallied from the 50m mark to win by almost half a length.

We are looking forward to seeing her head up to Caulfield for her big debut in the city and we hope she will do the team and her owners very proud. We would also like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy Easter!
